Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Kernel 3.19 (3.19.0-7.7) has been finally added to Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet and it will be most likely kept for the final version of Ubuntu 15.04, which is scheduled for release in April 2015.
So, if you are using Ubuntu 15.04 Beta or a derivative system, refresh the local repository index and perform a regular system upgrade, if you want the new kernel patch on your system:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
While Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet does not bring a lot of changes, Canonical being focused on developing Mir, Unity 8 and Ubuntu Touch, at least two features are worth mentioning:
- The Locally Integrated Menus will be enabled by default
- Folder Color has been added to the default repositories of Ubuntu 15.04
