Fix The Brightness Issue On Ubuntu And Linux Mint Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the latest Ubuntu and Linux Mint both set the brightness to either minimum or maximum at each reboot or when the system resumes from hibernation, despite the fact that the users adjust it.

This bug has been present in Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 17.1, Linux Mint 13 and probably other Ubuntu derivative systems and Canonical did not squeeze it yet.

However, a third party solution has been found. To remove this annoying issue on your Ubuntu or Linux Mint system, you just need to run the below script, available via the ppa:nrbrtx/sysvinit-backlight PPA:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nrbrtx/sysvinit-backlight
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install sysvinit-backlight
