Opera 30 stable has been released, bringing interesting new features.

Opera is a popular web browser, available for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Last year, Opera has adopted Google’s forked WebKit engine, the new versions of the browser being based on Chromium.

The latest stable version available is Opera 30 (30.0.1835.59), being the first browser that includes sidebar extensions. Also, it brings a faster Tab cycler, an enhanced tab menu, an easier way for reopening closed tabs and, option that displays the tabs opened on other devices sharing the same account and security fixes.

To install and test Opera Stable on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and derivative systems, like: Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, LXLE 14.04 and Linux Lite 2, you need to download the deb package and install it via command-line.

For now, Opera Stable is available as 64 bit packages only, but 32 packages should be created starting with the future Opera releases.

How to install Opera Stable on 64 bit Ubuntu and derivatives:
