Boomaga 0.7.0 brings interesting changes.
Boomaga is an open source virtual printer software, having support for the most popular printers, via CUPS and Gutenprint.
Unlike CUPS and Gutenprint which provide drivers for printers, the Boomaga virtual printer enables the users to view the document before printing, adjust the margins of the page, manage the number of documents per page, export the to be printed files as PDFs and others.
The latest version available is Boomaga 0.7.0, which brings changes:
- Added profiles for printer, you can have several presets of settings for a one printer.
- Added “Clone job” feature.
- Added “Print with options” feature.
- Support print count options for CUPS
- Updated translations.
- Many fixes.
Installation instructions:
The latest versions of Boomaga are available via some third party PPA, so installing the software and keeping it up to date is a piece of cake.
So, in to install Boomaga, just add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the boomaga package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:boomaga/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install boomaga
Optional, to remove boomaga, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove boomaga
The installation instructions work on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and derivative systems: Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2 etc.
