As you may know, Relay is an open-source, lightweight, IRC client developed for Elementary OS and written in Vala and GTK+
Among others, it has drag and drop to Hastebin support, a counter for missed messages, it opens clicked URLs in the default browser, the ability to search for user, private massaging and the ability to block users.
Also, it highlights the tabs with activity and your name when mentioned in chat, has drag and drop support for reordering tabs and permits you to turn on or off the joining and quitting messages.
The latest version available is Relay 0.2, which is still in its early development stages.
Installation instructions:
Up to date packages are available via PPA, so installing the software on Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet and Elementary OS 0.3 Freya systems is easy. Just add the PPA to your system, update the local repository index and install the relay package:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:agronick/relay
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install relay
If you want to install Relay on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and derivative systems like Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Deepin 2014, Peppermint 6, Peppermint 5, LXLE 14.04 and Linux Lite 2, you also need to add an elementary OS PPA for libgranite and the GNOME Unstable PPA for some GTK libraries. The full instructions are below, but keep in mind that installing unstable packages on your system may break it:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:agronick/relay
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/testing
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os/stable
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install relay
Optional, to remove relay, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove relay
