Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Canonical has recently updated their Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, reaching version 12.04.4.
Among others, Ubuntu 12.04.4 Precise Pangolin got kernel 3.11, which is the Kernel running by default on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, comes with Mesa 9.2, X.org updates, updated versions of Firefox and Thunderbird and some security fixes.
Ubuntu 12.04.4 has been released in the following flavors: Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio, the KDE version using KDE 4.8.5.
In order to get Ubuntu 14.04.4, just perform a normal system upgrade, and you will get all the new packages:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
