Hello Firefox OS Enthusiasts. ZTE has unveiled the full hardware specifications of the next two Firefox OS based phones: ZTE Open II and ZTE Open C, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014. As expected, the new two ZTE phones are low-end devices, just like the old ZTE Open.
ZTE Open C comes with a 4 inch WVGA multi touch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, an 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU, a 3 Megapixel camera, 512 MB of RAM memory, 4 GB internal storage, WiFi, Bluetooth and an 1400 mAh battery.
ZTE Open II has a 3.5 inch HVGA multi touch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, an 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU, a 2 Megapixel camera, 256 MB of RAM momory, 2 GB internal storage, WiFi, Bluetooth and an 1150 mAh battery.
Both ZTE Open C and ZTE Open II will be running on Firefox OS 1.3, as the default OS.
It looks like Firefox OS is doing quite well. For now, we know for sure that 2014 will bring ZTE Open C and ZTE Open II, the next two Firefox OS based smartphones developed by the Chinese manufacturer, Geeksphone Revolution, and the new Firefox OS based Alcatel phones: Alcatel One Touch Fire C, Alcatel One Touch Fire E, Alcatel One Fire S and Alcatel One Fire 7.
For those who don’t know yet, Firefox OS is a new Linux based mobile operating system, built by using the new HTML5 technology by the Mozilla developers. For now, it is used as default on smartphones with modest hardware specs, developed by LG, ZTE, Alcatel and Geeksphone.
