Hello Linux Geeksters. Ubuntu One, Canonical’s cloud service has been officially discontinued, but this was expected, since the Ubuntu developers have announced that they will abandon the project a while ago, to provide the users time to move all they had stored on the online service.

Ubuntu One Has Been Officially Discontinued. The Users Can Recover Their Content Until The 31st Of July 2014, When The Service Will Be Permanently Shutdown

Ubuntu One was appreciated due to the fact that it was fully integrated in the system, despite the fact that it provided small storage space, in comparison with Dropbox or Google Drive.

Via the Ubuntu One website, the users are able to either download all their data as a zip archive, or to use the Mover service to integrate everything on other storage sites. The users are able to recover their data until the 31st of July 2014, when the service will be permanently dropped and all the content will be deleted.
