Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Plume Creator is an open-source tool that enables the users to easily organize their writing projects, having support for rich text file, full screen editing and many languages.

The latest version available is Plume Creator 0.66.1, which has been released a while ago, bringing small bug-fixes.

In this article I will show you how to install Plume Creator 0.66.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0 and other Ubuntu 14.04 derivative systems.

Because it is not available via any repository or PPA, we have to download the plume creator deb package from the project’s page and install it via gdebi. Follow the instructions for your system’s architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install Plume Creator 0.66.1 on 32 bit Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems:

$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/plume-creator/files/0.6/plume-creator-0.66.1-i386.deb
$ sudo gdebi plume-creator-0.66.1-i386.deb

How to install Plume Creator 0.66.1 on 64 bit Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems:

$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ wget sourceforge.net/projects/plume-creator/files/0.6/plume-creator-0.66.1-amd64.deb
$ sudo gdebi plume-creator-0.66.1-amd64.deb

Optional, to remove Plume Creator from both 32 bit and 64 bit Ubuntu and derivative systems, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove plume-creator
